The World Lore'un
The Slicer of Karenport
Abandoned by a whore mother and drunkard father, as a baby Wailan was found and raised by wild elves. His life was harsh, as the elves had little time to see to the needs of a useless human child, Wailan learned to steal at an early age. He formed one close bond, and that was to an elderly Elvin warrior named Hilardren. Hilardren taught the boy how to use a favored elven weapon of the Scimitar with a ruthless efficiency. At the young age of 13, Wailan witnessed the slaughter of his adopted people by a ruthless Lord who had desires to seize the land that they were on. The lord having found a human among the elves, decided it would look good to his people to “save” this boy from his enemies and adopt him to teach him “proper” human ways. Wailan was indentured as little more then a slave. Beaten, cursed, and starved, Wailan’s hate for Lord Farlorn grew ever so. The Lord’s wife was also a vicious creature in her own right, bleeding her people dry as she lived a bejeweled and comfortable life. The only respite that Wailan would recieve would be in the hands of the lords true child, Espana. She too was abused by her parents, more so than Wailan, and in unspeakable ways by her father. Espana and Wailan became close, and he began to love her. It was then that he had to act. As he was the one who served his lord food, he decided to slowly poison them. Over a year he did this. The lady fell ill and succumbed to the poison fast, others mistaking it for some illness. Lord Farlorn survived the poison but slowly began to lose his mind, becoming a feeble bed ridden man. It was then that Wailan worked with another noble to over throw the mad lord. As the manor burned around the bed ridden man, Wailan told him what he had done, and then walked out, for the lord, weak and unable to move, to be consumed by the flames. He took Espana to the docks, and with gold he had stolen from the manor, put her on a ship, to flee and live a life free of pain. He could not be with her he knew, because he had tasted murder, and enjoyed it, and she was innocent and he would not corrupt her soul. Wailan then traveled, becoming a soldier, a circus entertainer, and many things, but wherever he went people died. We had tasted murder and he enjoyed it. He does not kill innocent people, but in his mind, only children are truely innocent. After years of murder and mayhem, he was finally caught and was going to be sent to the most dreaded prison in the land. But, it seems, fate intervened, as the prison was overrun with an evil abomination before he arrived. He was rescued by Quest and Vanthis from the War-Wolves. Together with them, he assisted in destroying the evil, and then fled on a ship, away from the prison, to join the War-wolves in Faladren’s elven bastion. He is now a mercenary, and his taste for murder has subsided for now, but he still loves the thrill of the kill.
